Пузыри на воде вроде упоминаются как аллегория шуньяты/анатмы, насколько я понимаю за то, что они имет только (большой) вид (форму)[, не не имеют внутреннего содержимого?]
Вот поискал цитатку.
Цитата:
As the Buddha said:
Form is like a ball of foam, sensation is like a bubble, perception is like a mirage, formations are like a banana tree and consciousness is like an illusion.74
What is the meaning of the words from ‘form is like a ball of foam’ up to ‘consciousness is like an illusion’? They signify the absence of a self, impurity, lack of satisfaction, absence of solidity and absence of substantiality.
Цитата:
Saṃyutta, III, p. 142, often reproduced in the Pāli texts:
"Form is like a mass of foam, feeling like a bubble of water, perception is like a mirage, volition is like the trunk of a
banana tree, consciousness is like a magic show: this is what the Buddha, a relative of the sun, has taught."
The Dhammapada, v. 170, may also be cited:
yathā bubbulakaṃ passe, yathā passe marīcikaṃ.
evaṃ lokaṃ avekkhantaṃ maccurājā na passati.
"See the world as a bubble of water, see it as a mirage. The lord of death does not see the person who considers the world
in this way."
Цитата:
[For example, a sūtra says]: "Form (rūpa) is like a ball of foam (phenapiṇḍa); feeling (vedanā) like a water bubble (budbudha); perception (saṃjñā) like a mirage (marīci), volition (saṃskāra) like the trunk of a banana tree (kadalīskandha); consciousness (vijñāna) like a magic show (māyā) and a magic net (māyājāla)."591
Цитата:
He sees only that visibles coming from the four great elements (mahābhūta) and from a complex of causes and conditions (hetupratyayasāmagrī) are lacking in substance (asāra) like a water bubble (budbuda).297
Непонятно почему в первой цитате водянной пузырик означает нечистоту.
Цитата:
budbuda m. (onotnat. ; cf. %{buDabuDa}) a bubble (often as a symbol of anything transitory) RV. (cf. comp.) MBh. Ka1v. &c. (ifc. f. %{A}) ; an ornament or decoration resembling a bubble L. ; an embryo five days old Nir. BhP. (n.) Sus3r. ; (%{A}) f. N. of an Apsaras MBh. ; n. a partic. disease of the eye , SuS3r
Цитата:
phenapiNDa m. `" mass of foam "' , a mere bubble , nonsense L.
Почти синонимы.
Цитата:
Form compared to a fleck of foam, Feeling to a bubble compared,15 And perception to a mirage, Thoughts compared to a plantain-tree16 And consciousness to a magical trick.
— from S. XXII, 95
______
15. The Thai bubbulupama is translated "a wave compared," a wave being a very suitable simile for feeling.
On one occasion the Blessed One was staying among the Ayojjhans on the banks of the Ganges River. There he addressed the monks: "Monks, suppose that a large glob of foam were floating down this Ganges River, and a man with good eyesight were to see it, observe it, & appropriately examine it. To him — seeing it, observing it, & appropriately examining it — it would appear empty, void, without substance: for what substance would there be in a glob of foam? In the same way, a monk sees, observes, & appropriately examines any form that is past, future, or present; internal or external; blatant or subtle; common or sublime; far or near. To him — seeing it, observing it, & appropriately examining it — it would appear empty, void, without substance: for what substance would there be in form?
"Now suppose that in the autumn — when it's raining in fat, heavy drops — a water bubble were to appear & disappear on the water, and a man with good eyesight were to see it, observe it, & appropriately examine it. To him — seeing it, observing it, & appropriately examining it — it would appear empty, void, without substance: for what substance would there be in a water bubble? In the same way, a monk sees, observes, & appropriately examines any feeling that is past, future, or present; internal or external; blatant or subtle; common or sublime; far or near. To him — seeing it, observing it, & appropriately examining it — it would appear empty, void, without substance: for what substance would there be in feeling?
Ну тут ссылка на шуньяту/анатму. Контекст интересен, в случае с клочком пены - его уносит по реке, (это аллегория рупы), а пузырек появляется и исчезает во время сильного дождя, (это аллегория веданы).
"'Just as when the rain-devas send rain in fat drops, and a bubble on the water quickly vanishes and does not stay long, in the same way, brahmans, the life of human beings is like a water bubble — limited, trifling, of much stress & many despairs. One should touch this [truth] like a sage, do what is skillful, follow the holy life. For one who is born there is no freedom from death.
